Webmaster's Note: The "Wanted" section has been split into two parts, Wanted-Apparatus and Wanted-Parts, Accessories Etc. I am also in the process of rearranging the listings so that the ads are in descending order by date or the latest ads will be at the top of the category. The ANNOUNCEMENTS AND SERVICES section has been moved to it's own page, see below. I would also ask that anyone that has an ad running please advise if the ad is outdated and should be removed. Persons submitting an ad are asked to make sure that their "CAPS LOCK" is not on as receiving the ad in all capitals requires retyping to fit our format. This courtesy is appreciated. Images submitted should be as a jpeg attachment, not embedded in a document. Thanks.
All advertisers should be aware that they will likely
receive an email solicitation from someone offering a deal that sounds too good
to be true. Don't be taken in by these thieves. If the deal sounds
too good to be true, then it probably is a scam.

FIRE APPARATUS FOR SALE
2010
FOR SALE: 1953 International/Minnesota Fire Equipment pumper. Truck was purchased new by Shawnee Fire Dept. in Shawnee, OK. It also served two other departments in same county. Truck is located just west of Shawnee, OK. I found it in a field where it had been sitting for 15 years. I have owned the truck for seven years. It has 16,XXX original miles, runs good, pumps water. Will not pull a draft. 500 gpm Waterous dual stage pump, don’t know size of original steel booster tank or if it holds water. I have rebuilt carb, replaced starter, alternator, battery, and had the brake booster rebuilt along with the wheel cylinders. Has new fan belt. Lights and sirens work. Tires are in pretty good shape. I have replaced door panels, headliner, and had seat reupholstered. Obviously, the truck needs paint, it also needs new side windows, they are cracked but still operate. Needs a new floor mat. Has the original hose reel mounted on the truck, not in pictures. Please call if you have any questions. (405)229-5120 or email sl.franetovich@yahoo.com . Asking $2000.00 (08/20/10--10--77)
FOR SALE: 1962 American LaFrance 900 series pumper. Ex- Swedeland, PA. 749 cu. In. Continental gas engine, 1000 gpm twin flow pump. Truck runs and pumps. Has 35’ wood ladder, hard suction, 110v. telescoping scene lights. Place for generator in LR compartment. Has 500 gallon poly tank. Lights and siren work. Has tubeless radial tires all around and comes with original tube type tire and wheels. Chrome is in very good condition. Paint is pretty good. Has some rust on right rear corner of pumper body from the old leaky steel tank. The engine runs good, has dual ignition, but it has an oil leak on the front head. I spoke to the restoration people at Texas Fire Museum, they say it is a common problem on the Continental engines. It needs to have a stitch repair, which they can do. Head gasket is easy to find. Also will need exhaust manifold gaskets. Side windows needs to be replaced and regulators need to be refurbished. I have owned engine for about 7 years, kids have grown up and we just don’t do much with it anymore. I do have some documentation and old pictures of the engine in service in the ‘60’s. Time for someone else to enjoy it. Located 40 miles east of Oklahoma City. Asking $3800.00, will entertain serious offers. I have a lot of loose equipment and hose that could be negotiated on also. manual transmission, its use was limited, and was used for some occasional
driver training. The exterior is in good condition with a few minor scratches.
Mechanically, it is in good condition (fuel pump leaks) and runs good. Highway
Vehicle Service Manual plus Operation Manual (courtesy of the Mack Truck
Historical Museum) is available.

to sell this unit at public auction August 2010 in Modesto CA. We will be
requesting a minimum bid of $1,000 as that would be its minimum worth as scrap
metal. We would rather see it be restored rather than sold as scrap. If
you are interested, please email or call and I will provide additional
information as to when and where the Mack will be sold. Jim Codoni, Jr.,

FOR SALE: 1950 Ford fire truck with a Ward LaFrance bed, formerly owned by the Unaka, NC fire department. It has a flathead V-8 that runs like new. The passenger door window is cracked and needs replacing. The truck needs new paint, but is very solid throughout. I have driven the truck around on my property, and have enjoyed it. The truck is now 60 years old to date, and has a total of 11,000 2/10 original miles on it. I have never tried the pump, but have no doubt it to work by an experienced person that knows how to hook up and use it. I have the original siren for this truck, but had removed it years ago to prevent it from being removed by vandals. The siren looks to be brand new. I have no doubt that it works as well. It spins freely like a new one, and the red lens on the front is as new. I have owned this truck for over 9 years to date. My intentions were to restore it to like-new condition, and use it in local parades, etc. One of the red lights on top of the front bumper was broken before I got the truck, but the other is intact and in like new condition. The truck needs a new battery, as mine has grown old and is worn out. This is a 6 volt system with a positive ground. The transmission is as new, but has a strange shift pattern that I personally have never seen one to equal. The inside floor pans are as solid as when they were new. The interior is in as-new condition with the exception of one tear in the 60 year old seat. Asking $4000 OBO, Call Rick at (706) 455-1725. Please leave message. Or email me at Grizzley1986@hotmail.com (07/22/10--10-59)

Built in January 1924 under shop order 93499 and shipped on February 7, 1924 to the Quincy, Florida Fire Department. Engine has most of the original steel body parts, except the hose bed which was taken from a 1919 Type 75. Engine originally had a nickel plated brass chemical tank. Speedometer has all correct parts, but has a stripped gear and does not work at this time. Motor is complete with all fuel cups and has the triple ignition systems with new ignition wires. Motor runs good, but does smoke some; drives good and has been up to 30 mph. Magneto ignition system does not work but has all the parts. Regular ignition works fine. Motor has hand crank and hold down strap for hand starting, (If you are brave enough to try that). Engine is painted in the original ALF maroon color and has no rust. Pump turns freely and has pumped once since the engine was rebuilt. Tires are new (only about 50 miles on them) and are the correct tread style, purchased from Coker Tire. Wheels are original wooden spokes and are stained, not painted. Brake shoes are new. Has foot brake and hand brake, both work fine. Seat cover is new. Motometer has ALF in its center, but is a reproduction. Head lights and search light has correct original lenses. Radiator is the correct German Silver and is in good condition. FOR SALE: 1958 Mack B95....needing a special owner & some TLC.
It is a 2 door enclosed cab, with a Hale 1000 gpm pump, and 400 gal. booster
tank. A new tank was built and installed in 1979. The original 707C Thermodyne
was replaced in 1976 with a Detroit Diesel 6-71. It has air brakes, air
steering, 5 speed transmission and no batteries. Located in SE Kansas, this
truck was in service from 1958 until 1999 when I bought it at a city auction.
Firefighter cared for until 1999, then parked, indoors until 2006 at my home.
During that time it was drove occasionally, and pumped water 2 or 3 times...just
for fun. In 2006, there was an electrical fire in the shop that housed the
truck....although the fire was at the opposite end of the building, and was
under control quickly, unfortunately, smoke knows no boundaries. Within a week,
the truck was driven outside, thoroughly hand washed, then moved once more to
where is sitting now. I have periodically used a garden sprayer to coat it with
wd40....in an attempt to protect and/or slow any further deterioration. With my
limited knowledge, I can't honestly say what all was damaged or affected by the
smoke or heat from the fire. I hope it was mostly cosmetic, and can be easily
fixed or cleaned. The paint was faded and worn away in places before the fire,
but I haven't been able to provide shelter from the elements since then. I love
this truck, and hate to sell, but I can not provide the attention it needs and
deserves.....physically, mentally or financially.
I know there were some minor air leaks mentioned when we had it out & running,
but can't say what all is needed as of now to run, drive, or pump. I feel it
shouldn't take much, but I am not a mechanic or a firefighter, so I can only
tell you what I know....which is the history. I have all the paperwork from when
city owned, including annual pump service tests, maintenance, repair, and
service records & receipts, also some original operating-maintenance manuals
with parts lists. What I find most exciting and interesting is a letter enclosed
with a proposal & specification folder. It was sent from Mack in 1957, detailing
the trucks specifics prior to purchase, and also includes the contract to buy
the truck.
I am looking for someone special, with a big heart, to buy my Mack...someone
with plenty of time, money and knowledge to restore its beauty, and give it new
life. I would love to see it restored and/or preserved for use in parades,
shows, or teaching children, or even put in a museum. Buyer MUST agree to share
restoration progress and/or completion thru email, photos, or any other workable
means, with me and my family. I have 4 children who have spent countless hours
playing in this truck.....all of them, from before they could walk, until as
recent as last week. I bought this truck for them. My ideas and intentions of
what to do with it just never became reality. My husband, and father to 3 of my
children, is a fallen firefighter (LODD 1998) and he drove, operated, and cared
for this truck. It is special to us, and a hard decision to sell, but I cannot
bear to see this truck waste away in my driveway, and now money is needed for
major home repairs, so I must let go....but will only agree to sell knowing it
will be cared for properly and our connection to it is not totally lost. Asking
$7,750...but all offers welcome. If interested please contact Kristi at
blonderider72@yahoo.com

FOR SALE: 1937 American LaFrance 400 series pumper for sale. It is from West Orange New Jersey # 7794 1250 GPM Centrifugal Pump. I have had this truck for almost 2 years now and I have reached a point where I don't think I can finish it and I need the room for another project. The truck is very solid with no rot just surface rust the only things that are missing is 1 running board and a siren. The running board on the officers side is the one and it can be made out of rolled steel. I have all of the parts for this truck and I will do as much as possible to get it to the right hands to finish it I do not want to part it out I know it can be finished and would make a fantastic piece of history. I have taken most of it apart and I have done a lot of work so far it just needs to be finished. The frame has been painted and the motor was torn down and runs great now it is a Waukesha 145 G and I have a bunch of manuals for the engine that will go with the truck. The motor needs a water pump and it is available. I repacked all of the wheel cylinders and painted them I had 2 fenders and the side metal skirts sandblasted. I have many photos of the truck while I was working on it and they will also go with the truck. It has the original bell, spot light, wooden ladders and hard sleeves. I can answer all questions and send more photos if you would like. $ 9300.00 OBO I may consider trades for antique fire alarm or any other fire memorabilia. FOR SALE: 1924 American LaFrance engine, ex-Denver Fire Department reserve Engine 16. Currently on display at the Denver Firefighters Museum, it runs (last ran in 2003). The truck was rebuilt from an ALF tractor, and the remains of a pumper, both owned by Denver. There is no builders plate but our research has found that it originally was ALF tractor number 4618, bought new in 1924 and, after a crash in 1938 was rebuilt as a pumper. It has a centrifugal pump, dual carburetors, and is sold with all attached equipment, including siren, ladder, hard suction and Roto-Ray. Also a complete history as we know it. For more pictures see our website, or contact us. Asking $10,000. Contact SOLD 08/01/10 .(06/24/10--10-50)
FOR SALE: 1919 Brockway American LaFrance Triple Combination Pumping Car, former Hazardville, CT’s first fire engine. In excellent condition. Has solid hard rubber tires, nickel plated Champion chemical tank, and almost all original equipment as delivered. Clear title and copy of original build order. Have complete provenance of vehicle. This truck was once owned by Rebekah Harkness, the heir to the Standard Oil Company fortune and founder of the Harkness Ballet Company and is noted in her biography “Blue Blood”. Used as her personal vehicle and housed in her mansion. Later presented as a gift to the Sparkill, NY Fire Department shortly before to her death. Truck has been housed and displayed in fire museums since leaving Sparkill, NY. It is small enough to be stored in a standard garage. Absolutely no rust or corrosion on truck. Motor runs without smoke. I hazard to guess that vehicle has less than 4000 miles on it. Study original delivery photo against present photo to get idea of excellent present condition and presence of original lights and accouterments. Would like to sell to a Connecticut buyer/collector if possible, but open to all. Asking $29,000. Shown by appointment. Have more photos and details on request. FOR SALE: I have a classic 1975 Ward La France Fire engine equipped with 1000 gallon tank, Hale pump, 2 hose reels with hose, two 10' sections of 6" hard suction hose. This truck has a stout Detroit 6V92 Diesel engine, 5 speed transmission, and air brakes. Odometer shows around 29,300 miles. Tachometer doesn't work but doesn't hinder the drive-ability of the pumper. Truck is a solid workhorse and was just taken out of service in June of 2009. Would be a great restoration project, or even as a promotional tool or just as fun drive around town. It isn't in perfect condition as is no working truck of this age. Tires are in fair shape. The only potential issue I discovered recently is the piping between pump and tank froze and burst during the unusually cold winter this year. Truck pumped and sprayed water and would've easily passed pump test prior to the freeze. I haven't had time to make necessary repairs. It is a sharp truck and a lot of fun to drive. Asking $4,500. Serious inquiries only!! Reasonable offers welcomed! Getting married and the truck has to go! Truck is located in EC Mississippi. FOR SALE: The Tolar, Texas, VFD has a 1978 American LaFrance Century Series for sale. It is an ex-Ft Worth rig. Everything is operational, and the pump was certified until last year. It comes with 3 ladders-a 24 ft extension, 16 ft roof, and 10 ft folding ladder. It also has 800 ft of 4 inch supply & a removable deck gun. It also comes with a pike pole, 2 axes and a Kussmaul battery maintainer. The engine was rebuilt when we acquired it 12 years ago and probably has less than 1000 hrs on it since then. It has a 6V92 Detroit with very few hrs on it and an Allison automatic transmission. It probably has over 100,000 miles on the chassis. The odometer shows 89,000 but it has not worked in a while. It has a twin-flow dual stage 1500 gpm pump. It is in very good mechanical shape. It drives good, has new tires, and fairly new brakes. We change the oil and do a pm on the chassis every year even though it never gets more than 40-50 hrs on it. It was originally white (ex;Fort Worth TX) and we had it painted red when we got it. The paint is good though not show quality. The tires are like new (3 yrs old with no tread wear) and aluminum wheels. I would drive it anywhere. The Federal 66 siren on the bumper is now included with the truck. Price is $10,000 but will listen to serious offers. FOR SALE: 1973 Diamond Reo. I collect and restore vintage semi trucks. I recently purchased a 1973 Diamond Reo fire truck from a construction company to keep it from being vandalized and probably scrapped. There is no firefighting apparatus other than the bed (body) and the pump and associated mechanics. (tank was removed). Truck runs, (needs a tune-up) starts, drives and stops. Very good tires, original V-8 Reo gas motor, 228 hp, 37,367 miles also has an MT42 Allison automatic trans, air brakes and power steering. FOR SALE: 1923 Model TT Fire Truck for sale. This was Junction City Oregon Fire Department's first motorized vehicle. It was used to pull the steamer that was previously horse drawn. After retirement it was purchased by Gibson Motor Company's Service manager and fire dept volunteer Jake King, who started working for Angus Gibson's at his Ford agency in 1921. Jake eventually sold the TT to my father, the owner and dealer at Gibson motors. Jake kept the TT in great shape and she was painted in 83. Unfortunately Gibson Motors was forced to close it's doors this year and therefore the TT is up for sale. She starts quickly, runs and drives well and looks great. There are a few small areas of paint peeling off the wood but this is not highly visible and would be easy to repair or leave alone. She comes with one of her original ladders. You can see her on the showroom floor looking great. More photos available $14,000. Scott Knox Ph: 541-482-2063 (02/21/09--09-11)

FOR SALE: I am offering for sale this 1946 Mack LS85
Pumper truck. This truck originally saw service in Rhode Island, and I bought it
about 6 years ago and took it to Florida. When I got it, the motor needed quite
a bit of work. I have had the motor professionally restored (It is the Mack
Thermodyne 707) and it is in excellent condition. New manifold, distributors,
heads magnafluxed, gaskets, and valve job. All internal parts were checked out,
and are in excellent condition. Brakes were done, transmission was gone through
and is in excellent condition. Basically all the mechanical has been completed
with the exception of the carb. I have located one, but have not purchased it,
since I no longer have an interest in fixing it. I moved to Michigan 4 years ago
and brought it with me, it has been stored inside since I purchased it.
The truck is in excellent mechanical condition, and I was told the pump was
operational when I bought it. It really just needs the aesthetics completed.
Minor body work on both doors, paint, chrome, seat recovered, etcetera. I had
hopes of finishing it and driving it in parades, but just don't have the time,
and now would really like to sell it to someone who will complete her.
I have over $ 8000 invested in the truck and the repairs, not counting the
freight to move it twice, and very little investment is needed to finish it.
Lights, gauges, axe holders, etc are all there. It does not have a siren or
bell, although I have located those as well. I can help you find someone for
shipping, or you can pick it up. I don't mind holding it up to 60 days as long
as it is paid for.
I am asking $ 5000 for it, and taking a loss on my investment, but I know that
the economy has got everything somewhat depressed. I don't need any more
ridiculous lowball offers as I have been offered $ 3950 for it, and have been
offered a little over $ 3000 just for some of the parts. I believe it is worth
more than $ 5000 (I imagine the motor alone is probably worth almost that), but
right now with the way things are, I will take $5000. It would make a great
group project for a fire house. I do not want to part it out, but am at the
point where I may start. So far I have not sold anything off of the truck.
Please feel free to email me at
deereoldiron@yahoo.com or call me at 269-788-4564 with any questions.
The only condition is I would like to see pictures of it when you finish her.
Have a Happy New Year! (01/05/09--09-02)

FOR SALE: The ULTIMATE Toy Hauler!
We had this trailer custom built to be able to accommodate our collection of
antique fire trucks. Our goal was to be able to transport safely (and enclosed)
either our 1924 American LaFrance Type 12 (approx 10,000 lbs.) or our 1930
Ahrens-Fox model “J” (approx 12,000 lbs.) Perhaps you could add a lift to go
racing or haul your muscle cars or even your antique tractor. The options of how
you can use it are endless! To ease loading and unloading, we had a ramp style
door built the full height of the rear of the trailer, giving us a long gentle
slope. A separate winch lowers and closes this extra heavy duty door. A double
thickness of ¾ inch plywood floor allows the weight of the fire engines to be
distributed along the trailer frame. 3 - 8,000 lb axles (with electric
brakes) carry the weight of the loaded trailer. A 9,000 lb winch is located in
the nose of the cargo space to winch the truck into the trailer. 10 – 5,000 lb
D-rings make tying down the load convenient.
Because of my work schedule, I would sometimes leave late in the afternoon to
get to our destination. This precipitated having living quarters built into the
nose of the trailer so we could pull off into a truck/rest stop for the evening.
The approx 20’ living quarters are fully self contained including a propane
electrical generator, stand-up shower and kitchen with microwave, stove etc.
With nearly 9’ ceiling height, the living area seems very spacious.
The trailer can be purchased with our 2002 freightliner FL 70 business class
semi-tractor to effortlessly pull the trailer down the road. We have driven to
Hershey PA from our home in Port Huron, Michigan and as far away as Denver CO
effortlessly, and comfortably.
If you have further questions or would like to arrange to see the truck or
trailer, please call me: Terry Ernest, 810-987-2854 during business hours. Or
e-mail: ternest@sbcglobal.net

FOR SALE: HALE pump from a 1966 International V-190 pumper. Believed to have been a MAXIM, the fire body was dismantled some time before I bought the truck. Uncertain of the GPM rating or any other specs. As far as we know it was fully functional when the truck was taken out of service, however I cannot offer any guarantees. All pieces attached to the pump are included except anything needed for the function of the truck. There are no additional parts such as the gauges and controls, they were all removed with the body a long time ago. Pump is in overall good shape, with just minor surface rust in places; the only rot out is the threading on the end of one piece of pipe, but it is a common piece of short pipe that can be easily replaced or rethreaded. If there are any other questions, please send and e-mail at dh447@hotmail.com or call 518-585-9882 and leave a message. Located in Crown Point NY. I will have it removed from the truck before the buyer's arrival. As for price, make me an offer. Not sure what its worth. Thanks. (09/06/06)

WANTED: 1 - good condition pre-60's antique fire truck for
local parades and fundraisers for our children's hospitals and Shrine fire
brigade. Our current truck has a bad manifold, and after a year long
search while restoring, we have decided that the engine parts we need to get our

truck at
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v699/ruger22com/truck6.jpg

truck looking for a good home, please drop me an email at

WANTED: very badly in the Pittsburgh area. I love fire
trucks and have since I was a little girl and my dream is to own a small antique
fire truck. Since 911 I have devoted my days to writing memorial poems to the
family's of 911 in memory of our great heroes that were lost that dreadful day.
I am hopefully looking for someone that needs to find their truck a good home or
could perhaps find it in their hearts to donate it or possibly sell it for a
very reasonable price as I cannot afford a lot of money. I will dedicate this
truck to the victims of 911 and it will bear on the side "Never forget our
heroes of September 11th." I will put this fire truck in parades around
Pittsburgh, Pa. If there is anyone out there willing to help please email me
below at one of the addresses. If you look at the web site Americas 911 Memorial
Quilts Organization under Tribute To The Lost

am doing. If you click on an underlined company that will take you to the poems
I have written in memory of each person that worked for the company. Email:

we have with our restored 1923 Maxim. It is insurance. We can get basic coverage
for drivers from the department, but not to haul people in the back hose bed on
parades and similar public events like we use to do. When we first took on the
task of restoring our original pump truck for this town, it was decided that it
would be a piece of "working" history and not just put behind glass. The kids
absolutely love to ride on it in parades and events. But this can happen no
more. Any ideas about insurance for these? If you are interested, check
out our little web page on our department page for the truck -

INFORMATION WANTED: I have been wanting an antique Firetruck for a long time....a local FD has a 1948 Ford F5 for sale, it is in excellent physical condition and has 8900 on the odo (and it looks it). It has a FH V8. The truck has been sitting for a few years, does not currently run. I think the motor just needs a good going through to run (carb rebuild, fuel line flush, new ignition, etc...) The remainder of the truck appears to be complete, pump is intact, has ladder and axe on side, all lights and sirens, etc...paint is excellent. I'm sorry I don't have more detail about the fire apparatus portion of the truck. What is a fair price for this rig? (it's a sealed bid) Also, If I'm successful, about how heavy is this rig, can I flat tow with towbar behind my '89 3/4T Suburban? (about 50 miles, relatively flat state highway). Thank you very much, I hope to be joining the hobby soon! Walt Brodzinski, EMAIL: jeepnut@therim.com (09/30/05)

INFORMATION WANTED: I am a Captain with The Cohoes, New York Fire
Department. I am trying to locate a couple of our apparatus from the past and
wondered if you would be able to help. Our department had two 1950 Mack Pumpers
which were sold together in the mid 1980's at a city auction, the person that
bought them is no longer in the area but I know he sold them before he moved on
to someone I believe in the Baltimore area.
These Mack's were in decent shape and they were sisters. I have many pictures of
these pumpers and was wondering if you could ask any of your people if they may
know the location of these trucks now. I have tried a number of different
avenues to locate them and have not had any luck. I would love to know where
they are and have pictures of what they look like; I would be willing to trade
pictures of how the trucks were when they were in the City of Cohoes. I have no
serial numbers to go by but I was hoping you may be able to get the ball rolling
by getting the Cohoes Fire Department name out there.
I hope you may be able to help. Captain Jim Fennen, email:

I purchased a 1957 American LaFrance 800 Series Pumper last November. The last
fire department to own it was Adelphi Fire Department in Ohio where it ran as
engine E-301. According to American LaFrance, its original owner was
Franklin Township, Ohio. Its registration number is 9455. I'm trying to find any
information about the truck's past as I'm in the process of rebuilding it. I'd
like to restore it to its original condition, but I have no idea what it looked
like before Adelphi got a hold of it. Adelphi painted it green with yellow trim
to match their other units.
I e-mailed one Franklin Township, Ohio, fire department, but it doesn't seem to
be the correct one as the only records they have for apparatus purchases in 1957
are two American LaFrances on Ford commercial chassis. If it helps, the Franklin
Township I'm looking for purchased two 700 Series ALFs four months before they
purchased the 800 Series that I now have. I can provide pictures of the
truck if it would help.
I can be contacted via e-mail at
ALFCO800@aol.com. Thanks in advance! (09/28/03)
