Original with the exception of paint. This truck was commissioned by the city of Olds, Iowa and served as the towns only truck for decades. She was stored after retirement until it was revived in the early 2000’s for a tailgating vehicle (Go Hawks!). The pump has been rebuilt and is reportedly functional. This truck runs and drives but could use some attention to the brakes. Trying to keep a piece of history from being converted into a Cummins driven parade vehicle. These two rigs were used at the Canadian Air Force Base in Namao Alberta, and Cold Lake Alberta. They were manufactured in the mid 60’s. They are foam generating units ( 5000 GPM of foam ) and hold 1000 gallons of water on board. The one unit is serial # 1 and the other is serial # 34.
The apparatus is made by “Pyrene” and they are on 6 wheel drive “Sicard” chassis. Each unit has two gasoline motors. The front motor is an 800 cubic inch Waukesha, 8 cylinder, hooked to an Allison automatic transmission.
The rear motor on the first unit ( serial # 1 ) is an in-line 8 cylinder Rolls Royce. The second unit has a Ford industrial V8 power-plant.
These units were designed to provide rapid acceleration, up to 60 mph, and could traverse rough terrain. Both are easily restorable as they were functional when parked. Very rare….they may be the last two left in North America. Selling one at a time or both together. Asking $15,000 ( Canadian ) each or both for $25,000. Will consider reasonable offers. They are located in High River, Alberta Canada.
